This map card has been created following a number of requests from customers for a dedicated Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) map card covering the tri-border area of France, Switzerland and Italy. The TMB is one of the world’s most popular long distance hiking routes and circles the Mont Blanc Massif in the Alps. The route which is approximately 170km normally takes 7-10 days to complete in a typically anti-clockwise direction. Popular starting points are the mountain resort of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in France, Champex in Switzerland or Courmayeur in Italy.
The map card contains a seamless layer of 1:25,000 scale mapping across the three countries in the TMB area plus a 1:250,000 and 1:1,000,000 base map. The card also contains the following useful overlay information:
Route GPX: route file of the whole TMB trail
POI data: towns and villages around the TMB such as Chamonix Mont-Blanc and Courmayeur
POI data: refuges, gîtes and huts as depicted on the France IGN mapping
POI data: border crossings
This map card contains:
Topographical: France IGN 1:25,000
Topographical: Switzerland SwissTopo 1:25,000
Topographical: Italy OpenCycleMap 1:25,000
Topographical: Full coverage using Satmap Adventure 1:25,000
Base Map: IGN 1:250,000 for the whole of France plus the TMB map area of Switzerland and Italy
Base Map: IGN 1:1,000,000 for the whole of France plus the TMB map area of Switzerland and Italy

Map Scales Explained|
When choosing a map card it’s important to choose the right scale for your needs. While all our maps look good on both the Active 10 and Active 12, they are used for different purposes.
France IGN Information|
France IGN are the French national mapping agency, who provide us with mapping in a number of scales, including 1:25k, 1:50k, 1:100k, 1:250k basemap and a 1:1,000,000 roadmap.
OpenCycleMap (OCM) Information|
OCM (OpenCycleMap) is a map developed for cyclists, using data provided by OSM (OpenStreetMap). These maps include key information for cyclists such as national, regional and local routes, as well as cyclepaths and footpaths. OCM is able to cover a lot of different areas due to using OSM data. OCM (and OSM data) is used by a huge number of third-parties due to its reliability and constant updates.
