Product Description

The Ridgeway follows the same route used since prehistoric times by travelers, herdsmen and soldiers. The route passes through two distinct landscapes, the North Wessex Downs and the Chilterns, both Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. At its start in the west, the path is a broad track along the open and isolated top of a chalk ridge, and by the time it reaches the Chilterns, the path becomes narrower and passes though woodlands, many of them beech. All along the way, the evidence of the history abounds, with features like the Avebury stone circle and the Uffington Whitehorse. Length of path 139km/87miles.This map card contains:

Ordnance Survey (OS) 1:25,000 Explorer of National Trail
Ordnance Survey (OS) 1:50,000 Landranger of National Trail
