Satmap launches new open source map cards, customised specifically for Satmap devices

Satmap Launch Adventure Mapping

Ideal for all outdoor adventures

We have joined forces with the creators of OpenCycleMap to produce a customised mapping layer designed specifically for Satmap GPS devices. This new mapping layer is exclusive to Satmap, featuring main street names, walking and cycling routes, contours and much more.

We have added the new Satmap Adventure Map to Xpedition so that you can start using this for planning anywhere in the world right away. Satmap Adventure Mapping can be viewed on Xpedition by visiting the planner tab and selecting “Satmap Adventure Layer” from the drop down menu.

The Satmap Adventure Layer is currently available on SD cards for selected countries, the whole of Great Britain and Austria are available now, each map card contains the equivalent of 1:25k, 1:50k and 1:100k data which is suitable for a whole range of activities.

We will be releasing more Satmap Adventure Map cards as quickly as we can, please contact our mapping team on if you are interested in particular countries as we will be collating feedback to help us decide which areas to focus on next!
