21st January 2010. Satmap is pleased to announce the release of software version 1.42 for the Active 10 sports GPS. This is a minor update released as part of our continuing desire to improve the user experience. If you have any questions or are unclear on how to use any aspect
of the software please refer to the Full User Guide. Please note: to get the most out of these features, it is recommended that the new version of SatSYNC (v1.42) is also installed on your PC. The new version can be found in the SatSYNC section below.
Changes in version 1.420
Please Note:Due to technical reasons, there are three 1.4 features that cannot be included as part of the free download:
- “hibernate mode”
- “detection of imported routes and POIs without restarting the Active 10”
- “support for folder commands from SatSYNC 1.42”
These will be available to order for just £9.99 on an SD card from the Satmap shop. You do not have to purchase the 1.42 upgrade card if you have previously purchased the 1.4 upgrade card or your unit has platform 09.02.21 (check this by going to Main Menu > Settings > About);
in this instance, simply download the upgrade program below.
If your unit is serial number 700001-701975 you cannot update your unit to include the above 3 options. This is because the electronic components on early units cannot support these features. If you wish to upgrade the electronics in your unit please contact our tech support team on 0845 873 0101. (Please note:
if you have already upgraded your electronics you do NOT need to do it again, you can download v1.420 right away.)
The following amendments to the software are contained in v1.420:
Resolved Issues:
- When coming out of Hibernate Mode, the unit will now always read the SD Card without it needing to be re-inserted.
- The Set Trip Data option in Settings is now accessible on all versions of the products.
- The memory usage in relation to POIs has been improved.
- For customers using early versions of the unit which are displaying UK vector road maps (this is the simple base map which ONLY shows roads and is NOT the 1:250k OS map), v1.42 will now display roads names.
- The Default Key now resets ALL settings to original configuration.
- If there is only one route it is no longer automatically activated – the user has to set this now.
