London Loop 7 - 8 on
2010-03-07
''Although section 7 of the loop officially starts at Banstead, I would recommend starting at Nonsuch Park in order to skip the residential roads around South Cheam. You can then carry on to section 8, which follows the green stretches of the Hogsmill River. It is interesting to follow the last part of the Hogsmill as it twists and turns through the urban parts of Kingston prior to meeting the Thames just South of Kingston Bridge''

Rosablanche on

''Unfortunately we dawdled over breakfast in the hut so didnt actually get to the summit of Rosablanche as we needed to be back down in time to get the last lift from Siviez back to the Verbier side of the hill. There are some big crevasses high up on the glacier which you need to watch out for on the way down. ''

Col du Belvedere on

''We started from the top of the Flegere cable car and went up the Index lift (not shown). The climb from Lac Blanc hut to the col is on easy slopes and the views are fantastic from the col. The descent past the hut to the bottom of the Trappe chair is straightforward in good weather.''

London Loop 5 - 6 - 7 on
2010-02-28
''Very steep walk up to Kenley Common, but rewarded by lovely views at Happy Valley and Farthing Downs. At the end of this route I carried on to Nonsuch Park, which covers the residential roads around Cheam. On reaching the Park the Loop goes left, but taking a right leads to Cheam village with its good transport options''
