High Quality Plug and Play Maps
The Active 10 TREK comes pre-loaded with the following mapping:
- World Base Map: Collins Bartholomew 1:5 million to 1:30 million
- USA Base Map: National Geographic 1:1 million World Atlas
Detailed topographical maps of specific areas are supplied on digital ‘Plug and Play’ SD cards from Satmap, which slot straight into the Active 10 GPS. No other computer or equipment is needed: this is a stand-alone system that will work straight out of the box, leaving users free to enjoy the great outdoors without worrying about navigation. The map cards can only be used with Satmap products.

This partnership includes the complete line of National Geographic outdoor recreation maps including the TOPO! USGS topographic map series, the AdventureMap series of international adventure travel maps, and, for the first time on any GPS, National Geographic’s premier Trails Illustrated series of maps for National Parks and popular recreation areas.
National Geographic maps will be available individually via SD cards, which will plug-and-play into the Active 10 TREK handheld GPS.
The TOPO! Map Series is made up of the highest quality USGS topographic data and joins together seamlessly, allowing users to pan across large across areas without interruption.

- National Geographic TOPO! USGS 1:24,000 scale topographic map of state
- National Geographic USGS 1:100,000 scale (covering same area as 1:24,000 map plus an additional 10km border)
- National Geographic USGS 1:500,000 contiguous states of America (excludes Alaska & Hawaii)
National Geographic premier Trails Illustrated series – digital maps for National Parks and popular recreation areas including:
America’s Greatest National Parks, Sierra Nevada and Southern Appalachians - with more to follow.
Each map card contains:
- National Geographic Trails Illustrated various scales 1:20,000 to 1:165,000
- National Geographic USGS 1:500,000 contiguous states of America (excludes Alaska & Hawaii)
Please note the boundaries of the Trails Illustrated map area have been clearly marked on the 1:500,000 mapping and the areas outside of this have been slightly faded.
