SatSYNC for Microsoft Windows
15th June 2010 Satmap Systems Ltd is pleased to announce the latest release of SatSYNC, an application for sharing routes and Points of Interest (Version 1.45)
This software is designed to be installed onto your computer and allows your computer to communicate with your Active 10 via a standard USB connection.
It contains the following amendments:
- Improved Waypoint filter
- Added support for XOL files
- Added support for Open Geocaching GPX files
- Coordinates in tab delimited text files can be entered in British National Grid Reference in addition to Degrees Decimal and British National Grid Easting/Northing
- Updated languages; now includes Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Spanish and Swedish
In addition to these key changes, there are many minor changes all designed to make the whole operation much more user friendly. Once you have installed and started SatSYNC, click on the User Guide button to see the full list of new features. The user guide also contains useful tips on using the Satmap Online Route Planner, Route Share Network, Geoaching.com, Google Earth and Google Maps with SatSYNC and the Active10.
Supported Operating Systems:
32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista and Windows 7
Known issue: SatSYNC cannot detect the Active 10 on a Guest Account in Windows XP.
Installation Instructions:
Please Note: If you have SatSYNC 1.2X, please uninstall it before installing the new version. However if you have SatSYNC 1.2V or 1.4xx, you can install the new version without the need to uninstall the old version. It is important to use this new version of SatSYNC in conjunction with the new version of Active 10 software (v1.45) in order to maximise the benefits of these upgrades.
- Make sure you have permission to install programs on the computer on which you intend to install SatSYNC
- Check that you have completely exited from previous versions of SatSYNC
- Download the appropriate zip file from the software page on the Satmap website
- Once the zip file is on your computer, double-click on it and you should see a new window with two files
- Double-click on the (.EXE) file
- Follow the instructions in the installation wizard
- You may be directed to the Microsoft website to download and install version 3.5, service pack 1 of the .NET framework before proceeding with the installation of SatSYNC. If .NET 3.5 SP1 does not work well on your machine, please let us know and contact Microsoft or your computer vendor for a solution
